Kids - Upcoming

Happy holidays! I pray that during Thanksgiving you were all able to slow down and spend some time together as a family without a long list of "have to's" or holiday stress.

Things are getting busy for us in Fair Oaks Kids! Christmas is upon us. There are some important dates coming up that you will want to be sure to mark on your calendar.

November 30th - we will be having a Family Movie Night. We will be showing The Star. The movie tells the nativity story through the eyes of the donkey. We will begin at 6:30 and will have hot cocoa for you to enjoy while you watch. Feel free to bring the kids in their pajamas and bring blankets and pillows to get cozy while we bring in the Christmas season together.

December 16th - the kids will be performing their Christmas songs in the service. This is a great opportunity for them to show off all of their hard work. Please invite your friends and family to support them as they sing.

Preparing for Advent 2018

Simple Christmas - Instagram.png

It seems that every year it gets more and more difficult to keep Christmas centered around Christ. It takes so much intentional effort and let's face it - most of us are just struggling to get through the season with our heads above water. However, when we do make that choice to stop and refocus ourselves and our family on the true reason we celebrate, we walk away with a greater blessing than any gift under the tree. Our family has enjoyed participating in something called the Jesse Tree. This is just a way to celebrate Advent by going through some of the main stories in the Bible from creation to the birth of Christ. Each day there is a new story and a new ornament to put on the tree. There is a free resource online that is called the Jesus Tree. It is the same concept as the Jesse Tree but with a little sharper focus on the person and work of Jesus. I pray that you enjoy this as much as we have.

I continue to hold you all up in prayer and ask that God would shine brightly in your lives
